Ah....back in Ottawa. So jetlagged I can't sleep in although I'm exhausted. Dah well....will post and then just lie in bed and watch episodes of House. And starve. I need to go to the grocery store. sigh.
So..my last few days in England were AWESOME. I last left you at the zoo, I believe. The following day i took it completely easy as i came down with a bad cold and felt like crap. But thursday, Linz and I got all tarted up in dresses and went into London to meet her boyfriend and go out for the evening. It went great (aside from thte shoe comment, eh Linz? haha). Hopefully I'll get a pic to post of our adventures in London all dressed up like superstars. I wore a DRESS...GASP. haah.
Friday I jumped on teh tube, and a few claustrophobic attacks later, made my way to the british museum -- what a freakin' huge piece o' work. I was strangely happy to be seeing it on my own, as I could pause only at what I wanted to pause at...which was mainly the egyptian things. I can't get enough of mummies!! HAHA.
Hmmm...then saturday we saw an outdoor production of MACBETH which was GREAT....there's something about seeing Shakespeare done by people with real British accents. OF course, granted, when Shakespeare was actually around, those accents sounded quite a bit different...but it's much closer than anything you'd find here in the colonies. :)
Monday was the best day ever. I joined this tour group of 5 old people haha...and got in a little van and went to Stratford and Warwick Castle. SO COOL. Warwick castle was definitely my favorite. It's the largest castle in England, and has been bought and restored by Madame Tousaud's...so there's wax people all over the place....they had a MASSIVE trebuchon (catapult) which they fired and a huge eagle and a bowman and a dungeon and PeAKCOCKS everywhere..man, it was so cool. :)
Aight, that's enough. I need to find some food before I starve to death. And unpack I guess. barf.

Some pictures of the Zoo:
On left: the random guy from the tunnel who wouldn't leave my umbrella and me: "Uh, doesn't he belong to YOU guys?"
On right: Here I am being perched on by a butterfly. Maybe it liked the smell of my shampoo???

I stopped posting for a while....just fell out of the mood. But now I'm all finished school and am on holiday visiting oxford for 2 weeks and staying with linz. And of COURSE, random events follow the two of us around like flies to dead rotting meat (nice analogy, eh?), so I figured, it might just be time to start writing again.
So, I arrived here Thursday, June 8th. That day was all a bit of a blur becasue of course I was hungover as fuck from the airplane...and by hungover, I mean overtired. :)
Friday was my BIRTHDAY. Linz woke me up by playing the version of "happy birthday' by the New Kids on the Block. If you haven't heard this...um...count your blessings. It's pretty painful. We went shopping, and I got my hair cut, and then I came home to a room all decorated with posters and streamers and ballons and TACOS and CHOCOLATE cake...YAY linz!! AND linz gave me pretty much the greatest bday gift ever....ladies, I'll tell you how it works later. ;)
Friday night we went out to Filth, where we discovered all the boys from 'Vinnie's Cocktails' (a club of all the varisty Oxford MALE athletes) had also decided to go......met a few interesting people....very random, but hillarious night. :)
Saturday we didn't leave the house until 4pm...needed to recouperate. haha. Went to see 'THE OMEN"...gah. What a crap movie. I suppose enjoyable...but really, just pretty crap. OOOOooo....I'm a scary little boy....ooooooo...shut the fuck up. HA.
Sunday I FINALLY got to the Ashmolean museum ...man, that place is hot. I was frying up my insides as I was walking around. Pretty awesome spot though.....talk about history. Then we wandered down to the see the newly renovated PRISON and CASTLE...holy crap what a cool spot. You walk into this castle...and in the courtyard there's all these beautiful little restaurants with tapas and crepes and ice cream...all tastefully and colourfully laid out in the sun. It's so beautiful and so sweet......fell in love. :)
Monday I went and did a bunch of hte things in Oxford I never had a chance to do when I was a student...like finally go up the tower of St. Mary's Church...this is probably the most beautiful structure in Oxford. You climb up this tiny winding stone staircase up the gargoyle-strewn tower to reach the breathtaking views of the city at the top. You can look down into colleges you can't get into any other way and spy on teh fellows...it's kinda fun :)
Then TUESDAY....okay, so Linz and I got up super early and jumped on the bus to take us into London. We arrived in Lester Square and ran around to all the discount ticket places, looking for the best deal on good seats for Les Miz -- at the third desk we found them. Floor middle seats for only 32 pounds! SO AWESOME. We then jumped back on the tube and went to...THE LONDON ZOO. What an awesome spot. We ate ice cream and watched the peinguins, stared amazed at the lions and said 'wtf' over the okapis. The weather was perfect until the very end of our visit, when the skies opened up and POURED water down on us. We ran to a nearby large tunnel to wait out the storm. Now....whenever i am with Linz, random things happen to me. So, here we were, prisoners in a tunnel with our practically useless umbrellas, waiting out the storm with other school tour guides and other haphazard detainees. I noticed four guys at the opposite end of the tunnel cracking jokes and generally having fun with each other. But I ignored them. ha. Perhaps they heard our accents, I dunno, but anyway, they decided to befriend us. One in particular....who decided I was going to give him my umbrella or at elast walk around with him under my umbrella. They started getting annoyingly 'familiar' so Linz and I decided to brave teh rain and said our goodbyes. I start to leave the tunnel, and then look down, and see that the main guy has come with me and is walking under my umbrella with me. I look back at his friends like, 'uh....what the hell', and yell out, 'Doesn't he belong to you???' To make a long story short, this guy and his friend follow linz and I out of the zoo and 20 minutes down the road (we missed our turn because of their distraction) and would NOT take the hint when we told them for the 15th time that they could NOT have my number in Canada and that I would NOT meet them later that night and GOD DAMN GET AWAY FROM US. hahaah. Good thing Linz was there, with her ability to be like, 'fuck off, we're leaving'....so we FINALLY got them to leave us alone. Of course, by then we were drenched with rain, totally muddy and lost. One stop at a clothing store, one at a starbucks and a random change of clothing later, we were back in London enjoying dinner. And laughing our asses off.
Les Mis was AMAZING that night. I laughed, I sighed, I definitely cried.
So far, this trip has been amazing. Have myself a bad cold, but am having a great, random time.
One of teh most interesting however, has been the realization that I miss something that I only really found out about a few days before I left. Odd thing to find yourself really missing something you only just discovered. :)
