URGH! Why do I keep doing that?
Erica, for godssakes, stop letting curiousity get the better of you....you know you're going to regret it, and it's going to hurt.
This is really a note to myself. Just written here to remind me -- DO NOT DO THAT AGAIN.
Yes Tom, this is another of these cryptic blog entries. Just cause I'm so damn stupid and apparently somewhat massachistic....just don't click erica. Don't click, and don't look.
Man oh man. Why don't I learn?

The stress, ladies and gentlemen, has finally hit me.
Last night I had my first stressed out exam dream. I was sitting in my exam, staring at my paper. Before me was a question asking me to choose which event (or something) the following name was associated with, and write an essay on it. I had never heard of that name before. Crap.
And then I woke up. I know how this works, and I'll continue to have these exam/dissertation dreams for the next 5 weeks.
Hugs, cards and donations of chocolate and alcohol are all greatly appreciated.
*sigh*

Hanging out with Annie always ends up in interesting places. :)
Like, last night, I was simply out for a walk. Dropped by college, ran into Annie coming out of rehearsal. The next thing I know, we're in the bar, working through pint number 3, neither of the previous 2 having bought, learning copious amounts about cricket and the connection between paper cups and ghansta rap, from boys wearing magnetic diamond earings and headbands, trying to impersonate the West Indies cricket team.
Sigh. Random Mondays.

I've listened to far too much David Gray tonight.
Shouldn't have done that.
Now my mind won't shut off.
Probably will have weird dreams tonight.
Goodnight. :)

Heya. Couple of observations/ideas to pass along on the pseudo-cloudy sunday morning:
1. It is never okay to shout across a field and comment on the "niceness" of some poor innocent's "rack", no matter how drunk you are or how sunny it is.
2. It is fine to go to the same place for ice cream twice in one day, if it's sunny.
3. Sunny evening bbqs are amazing. That's all there is to say about that.
4. It doesn't make me a bad person to have watched the southpark movie 3 times in 4 days.
5. The PT has much better tapistries than the St. John's MCR.
6. Procrastination is FAR to easy to do.
7. It should be sunny today. It's sunday, and I want to go to the park. Clear up, sky.
That is all. :)

Oh my god.
It's sunny...and it's HOT. I stand in the sun, in a tanktop and capri pants, and I SWEAT. Yes, I know that's gross, but it's SOOOO beautiful!!
WAAAHOOOO!!!
Today I have to go visit the physio man to see what's to be done about my back. gulp
Other than that, things are pretty good with life. A little confuffling as per usual, a little too pensive sometimes, but for the most part, life moves steadily forward and I'm pretty content. Of course, the sun helps.

Tom tells me my posts are rather cryptic. They convey a certain sentiment, but are utterly confusing and you never know what it is I'm actually talking about.
GOOD.
That, dear friends, is the point.
Like today, for example, I'm waiting (impatiently) to hear word on a very important issue, and if I don't hear soon, I think I might actually grow that ulcer that's been threatening to appear in my stomach ever since my thesis began 2 years ago.
And even though I write that as if I'm joking around....I'm actually on edge. Really and truely concerned...but trying not to think about it. Something's strange...and I'm afraid I've missed it. This is one of those times when I really wish I was only paranoid. It's hard to concentrate on tropical disease reading when you check your email every 2.5 minutes.

Arrrgh. Really upset about this. Will explain later when not so tired or in so much pain.
Don't worry...nothing crazy, just chronic back crap that may make me have to quit rowing -- which depresses me so much to think about.
Will write about this tommorrow.
Am in such a funk. Hmph.

Okay. So, today's not so bad.
It's sunny, and I am at the library, but am listening to my new favorite song that makes me smile -- Place Your Hands, by Reef. Get it (illegally if necessary...I know most of your pirates anyway), turn it up, and let it wash over you...if it doesn't make you smile, then something's wrong. :)
Other than that, I have my first rowing outing tonight at 6, so definitely looking forward to that. Sweet action. :)

Hey y'all...well, here I am..back in Oxfordville. Paris was incredible...that city is so huge, so grand....we packed as much as possible into our few days there, and I'm COMPLETELY exhausted. :) I took a hella lot of pictures -- most are just touristy shots, but some are slightly more "artistic" so I've started putting them up on Deviantart...check them out if you've got a sec..lots of shots of the cathedrals and stuff.
I don't have the energy right now (sunday morning...er...afternoon now I guess...after a hard nigth on the town...urgh...get me water) to relate the whole Paris trip and what I did and saw and blahblahblah, and you probably don't want to hear it all ANYWAY, but it was damn cool. Saw Notre Dame and Chartres, walked the streets of an medieval town and inside an old moat...saw the Mona Lisa and paintings of Monet and Degas...saw the L'arch de Triomphe and the Effiel Tower...rediscovered my love of the french language....and discovered (unsurprisingly) a love for french bistros and pattiseries. :)
But now it's sunday, back in Oxford, and tommorrow it's back to the library. URGH.
But that's tommorrow. Today, I think I'll go watch the footie. Go Manschester!!

Well, this is it folks. In the morning I head to paris, so no blogging from me for a whole WEEK (well..until saturday...so not really a week...but...whatever). Not that I'd win any awards for length or depth of blog entries lately anyway...but again...whatever. I've been TIRED lately...too much touring. Fun, though. :)
But now it's evening...got some massive attack playing...getting ready for bed...and I'm pensive once more. Came across a bit of a bomb today.....hit me when I wasn't looking....wasn't expecting.....although it is still my fault, I guess. I cared, I looked, I saw, I interpreted -- whatever the truth value of that interpretation, I don't know.
Do we go out looking for these bombshells to hit us? Or do we simply go out, forgetting our metal hats and protective boots....not thinking life has laid these things in our path?
It's just that right now, if I could have a genie who would grant me one, and only one, wish in this entire world, I know EXACTLY what I would wish for.
I need to find that Aladdin kid.

Hmmm.....well.
Guess you learn something new about yourself every day. About what you are willing and not willing to do, and how strong you can be in your convictions. And also, how you easily power can be gained in any situation simply by assessing it with a detached mind.....hmmm. I like this new enlightenment. :)

Hmm...haven't written much lately...have just been busy doing work on the thesis and increasing my musak collection thanks to the talents and copious mp3 collection of one Mr. Salo.
My parents come tommorrow!! I'm super stoked about this, but also mad at the university because they shut ALL the colleges as of yesterday, 5pm, for a WHOLE FREAKIN' WEEK for easter. What university shuts down when all its graduate students are still here trying to work?? (or entertain their parents...) This also means the libraries are all closed today...so, shucks. Can't possibly do any work. What's that? What's all those photocopies on my desk I could be reading? uh..uh....that's none of your business. Back off.
So, what AM I going to do today? Well, right NOW I'm gonna go make some chocolate-covered strawberries, go hang with the wonderful Meg this afternoon, and then go sing in an easter concert, and then EAT the chocolate-covered strawberries. Sounds good to me!
Happy Good Friday everyone! It's sunny here -- YAY!!

Today marked the 10-year anniversary of the Rwandan genocide. Roughly 500 000 people were gone in just 100 days after the start of the killings.
Just take a second to sit back and take that in.
It's impossible actually...impossible to take that in. Not while I sit here in my comfortable room, typing on my expensive laptop, listening to my mp3s, looking at my cell phone and looking forward to the visit of my parents on saturday.
It's incredible, that this and that can all go on in the same world.....

I have a new song addicton. It's Maroon 5's "This Love". I think I need to find more of this group's music, because I am in love with both of the songs I know by them.
Check it out.
ALSO, you MUST listen to Battleflag, by Lo-Fidelity Stars w/ Pigeon Head, which runs through the trailer of Starsky and Hutch, but is NOT on the soundtrack. Pity, because it's the BEST SONG associated with the movie. Seriously, that's GOOD SHITE.
That's the sunday update. Find these songs, then let me know what you think about my musical tastes. Have them both on repeat at the moment. ;)

Yesterday afternoon I played frisbee in a friend's backyard for 2 hours in barefeet. Spring has sprung, ladies and gentlemen.
My thumbs are a little bruised and painful today, but that's the price you pay for a sunny afternoon with fantastic company, learning to properly throw a frisbee, watching your friend catapult himself over a stone wall to fetch a frisbee you managed to throw into the next garden, and some great chicken pasta.
I think that backyard will turn into bbq central once it gets warmer on a regular basis. Now THAT I'm looking forward too. :)
